Strength-based therapy is a transformative approach that focuses on your unique strengths, talents, and inner resources. Instead of concentrating on what’s wrong or what feels broken, it encourages you to recognize and build upon the qualities that make you resilient and capable.
By shifting the focus away from problems, strength-based therapy helps you see yourself in a new light. It invites you to discover and nurture your existing skills and resilience, creating a solid foundation for meaningful growth and lasting healing.
What Does Strength-Based Therapy Look Like?
Strength-based therapy is rooted in the belief that you have unique qualities and resources inside you—even if they’re hard to see right now—that can support your healing and growth. Instead of dwelling on what’s “wrong,” we work together to:
• Identify your personal strengths and values
• Build confidence by recognizing what you already do well
• Encourage self-compassion and kindness toward yourself
• Create hope by focusing on your potential, not just your challenges
Our work will be a partnership where I help you uncover and amplify those parts of you that often get overlooked.
Why Does It Matter to See Yourself Differently?
How you see yourself affects everything—from how you manage stress to the choices you make daily. If you’re used to focusing on what’s “not enough” or what’s going wrong, it can be hard to imagine change.
Strength-based therapy invites you to rewrite that story. You’ll learn to:
• Recognize your resilience—even during difficult times
• Celebrate progress, no matter how small
• Embrace the qualities that make you uniquely you—whether it’s creativity, empathy, or determination
• Move from judgment to acceptance
This doesn’t mean ignoring your struggles. It means balancing them with a kinder, fuller understanding of who you are.

How We’ll Work Together
In our sessions, we’ll explore your story—perhaps focusing on moments you’ve overcome challenges or felt proud of yourself. We’ll identify your core strengths and values and set goals aligned with your true self.
If it aligns with your goals and interests, we can also incorporate art therapy into our work to help you explore emotions, experiences, and inner strengths that may be difficult to access through words alone.
My approach is integrative, so alongside strength-based therapy, I may incorporate techniques from Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), psychodynamic therapy, attachment work, positive psychology, and person-centered therapy—always tailored to your unique needs.
Together, we’ll develop strategies grounded in what energizes and supports you.
Who Can Benefit From Strength-Based Therapy?
This approach can support anyone ready to build more confidence, self-awareness, and resilience. It’s especially helpful if you:
• Feel stuck in negative self-talk or low self-esteem
• Are managing anxiety, depression, or life transitions and want to focus on empowerment
• Are interested in using creativity and personalized therapy to support your growth
Strength-based therapy works well alongside other therapeutic approaches and is fully customized for you.
