Who I Work With
I primarily work with women and men in their late 20s to early 60s. Many have a strong sense of responsibility and a tendency to set high standards for themselves. They have fantastic qualities, but don't always recognize them. While many see them as confident, calm and composed, the reality is that they tend to overthink and worry, often focusing on pleasing others rather than themselves. Sometimes they wonder if they are "good enough." They are feeling the impact of anxiety and are in need of support to help with coping, self-compassion, setting boundaries and tending to their own needs and self-care.
Do I Need to be Good at Art?

You don't need to be good at art to benefit from art therapy as the focus is on self-expression and emotional exploration rather than artistic skill.
Whether or not you engage in art making during our therapy sessions will always be up to you. Some of my clients engage in art making all of the time; some engage in art making some of the time; and some prefer traditional talk therapy and never engage in art making at all. Whatever your preference - it works for me. :)
