Hi! I'm Karen
Curious, patient, open, reflective, and supportive
My practice is centred on creating a comfortable, atmosphere that doesn't feel "clinical." Many of my clients describe our sessions as informal yet purposeful leading to profound insights and personal growth.
In our first session, we’ll get to know each other and create a personalized plan just for you. Through talking and/or art making, together, we will uncover the roots of your struggles, develop strategies tailored to your individual needs, and foster skills to manage your life more effectively.
What is art therapy?
Art therapy (or art psychotherapy) is a mental health profession that combines the creative process and psychotherapy. Art therapy involvies incorporating art materials and artmaking (and sometimes other creative means) to help individuals of all ages express, explore and work through their feelings, thoughts, and experiences.
Who I Work With
I primarily work with women and men in their late 20s to early 60s. Many have a strong sense of responsibility and a tendency to set high standards for themselves. They have great qualities, but don't always recognize them. While many see them as confident, calm and composed, the reality is that they tend to overthink and worry, often focusing on pleasing others rather than themselves. Sometimes they wonder if they are "good enough." They are feeling stressed and anxious and need support to help with coping, self-compassion, setting boundaries and tending to their own needs and self-care.
